FAQ
About the product
This brand was born from Daiei Mokko, a company that has been crafting fittings in Noshiro, Akita for generations. From the unique character of wood and the intricacy of kumiko joinery to the interplay of light and shadow, we deliver the elements long cherished in Japanese homes through the accessories and lifestyle tools we create.
This is a traditional woodworking technique that creates geometric patterns by assembling finely processed pieces of wood. At shinboku, we have adapted this delicate craftsmanship, traditionally used for shoji screens and transoms, into forms that can be enjoyed in everyday life.
As this product is made from natural wood, there are individual differences in grain and color. It may differ from the photographs, but please enjoy the unique character that each piece of wood offers.
Wood gradually changes color when exposed to light and air. The way it changes depends on the species and the environment in which it is used. The deepening character that develops as it becomes a part of your daily life is one of the joys of natural wood.
For daily care, gently wipe with a soft, dry cloth. Please avoid applying excessive pressure to the delicate kumiko sections. Keep the product away from water, prolonged direct sunlight, and direct airflow from heating or cooling units, and please also check the specific care instructions for each item.
The inclusion of a light source and the power supply method vary by product. Please check the included items and specifications on each product page before purchasing. If you have any questions regarding the lighting fixtures to be used with the lampshades, please feel free to contact us.
